September 6th 2002 - Molestation in the family (aka: when media becomes a counseling center)

The media continues to keep us entertained with the Westerfield family saga.

An unidentified cousin going by the pseudo "Mickey", and other relatives who do not want to be identified are spreading stories of family molestation which could have happened some 40 years ago in the Westerfield family.

The trauma was so bad that this unidentified "Mickey" never underwent any counseling, but she finally found help and comfort revealing her problems on radio and TV fourty years later.

Why this anonymous cousin didn't "reveal" all these interesting stories in February 2002 when Westerfield was charged with kidnapping and murder?
Is it pure coincidence that this "revelation" happened to be brought up precisely while the jury is deliberating on the death or life sentencing of David Westerfield?

For the upcoming episodes, I will simply suggest a list of subjects still unexplored by media:
  • Another unidentified family member relating some horror stories involving animals.
  • An anonymous drug dealer revealing there could be drug use in the Westerfield family. The "infamous" grand-father could have cultivated opium on his farm.
  • A family member could be actually hiding in Afghanistan and who could be fighting for the ex-taliban.

  • Of course, this list is not exhaustive.

On September 3rd 2002, before the molestation story, I received a request for an interview from a reporter with Local 8 News, CBS in San Diego.

I answered that I will be delighted to take part in an interview if the station was able to provide someone to answer my questions which also happened to be the questions everyone else has in mind.

As you can read on my site, on the page named "my questions", there is a plethora of questions I wanted to have answered in the proposed interview.

I am still waiting for an answer.

It looks like it is easier to find "unidentified family members" ready to spread dirt via unverifiable "revelations" in which the person accused is dead than to find someone able to answer very simple questions......
